Rent a Boat with SeaGold Santorini Rental Boats
It is crucial to understand that by reserving a boat with us, you acknowledge and accept our terms and conditions. We strive to deliver exceptional boat rental services; however, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally disrupt our plans.
In the event of a mechanical issue with the boat, we will make every effort to substitute it with a suitable replacement. Alternatively, if another boat is not immediately accessible, we will promptly refund your deposit.
Boat Reservation: When you make a booking for a boat with us, please be aware of the following details:
Briefing Hours: We offer briefing sessions at specific times. It is important to arrive on time for the scheduled briefing to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
Deposit: A deposit is required upon booking to secure your reservation. The deposit amount will be communicated to you during the booking process.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your boat reservation, please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy. Cancellations made within a certain timeframe may result in a partial or full forfeiture of the deposit. The details of our cancellation policy will be provided to you at the time of booking.
We highly recommend reviewing and understanding these aspects before finalizing your boat reservation to avoid any inconvenience or misunderstandings.
By proceeding with the boat reservation, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following terms:
- Deposit Requirement: To confirm the boat reservation, a deposit must be paid as specified during the booking process. The deposit serves as a guarantee for the reservation.
- Briefing Time: The scheduled briefing for the boat rental is at 08:30 am (Morning) or 15:00 pm (Evening). It is essential to arrive on time for the briefing. In the event of lateness, the briefing may be rescheduled, which could result in a delay before you can embark on the boat.
- Late Arrival Policy: If the customer fails to arrive at the designated meeting point by 08:45 am (Morning) or 15:15 pm (Evening) and has not made any prior contact via phone or text message to notify us about the delay, we reserve the right to rent the boat to another customer. In such cases, the deposit is non-refundable.
It is imperative for the customer to thoroughly understand and accept these conditions before finalizing the boat reservation. Compliance with the specified times and communication regarding any delays are essential to ensure a smooth and satisfactory experience.
Cancellation of the Rental by the Operator:
In rare instances, we may need to cancel a boat rental due to adverse weather conditions such as strong winds or heavy rain. In such cases, we will offer you the option to reschedule the rental for a different date that is convenient for you. If rescheduling is not possible, we will provide a full refund of the booking fee minus any applicable processing fees.
Cancellation of the Tour by the Customer:
If you wish to cancel the boat rental, please note the following conditions outlined in our Terms & Conditions:
- Cancellation 11 or more days before the rental date: Bookings canceled during this period will be fully refunded, except Paypal or Nexi e-Commerce fees.
- Cancellation within 10 days prior to the rental date: Bookings canceled within this timeframe are non-refundable.
Refund Process:
All eligible refunds will be issued within 14 days of the cancellation date. Please be aware that these conditions apply in cases of heavy winds or heavy rain, where we agree to change the tour date to a day suitable for you or provide a full refund minus processing fees.
We strive to provide flexibility and fair refund options while considering unforeseen circumstances that may arise.
Online Booking and Security
We use PayPal and Nexi e-Commerce, both leaders in online payments, to handle our payment transaction processes safely and securely. We accept all major credit/debit cards.
All payments made using a card are processed through the “Nexi e-Commerce” electronic payment platform and use TLS 1.2 encryption with 128-bit encryption protocol (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption encodes information until it reaches the intended recipient, who can then decode it using the appropriate key.
Boat Rental and Customer Acknowledgements:

- License Requirement: No license is necessary to operate a motorboat with an engine up to 30hp. However, a valid Boat Driving license is required for renting a boat with an engine larger than 31hp.
- Pre-Rental Inspection: Prior to renting, you have the option to inspect the boat and its two outboard engines to ensure they are in satisfactory condition.
- Fuel Policy: The boat will provide you with a full fuel tank. Any fuel consumed during the rental period will be charged separately, and it is the customer’s responsibility to pay for the fuel upon returning the boat at the designated meeting point.
- Third-Party Insurance: The boat is insured for accidents involving third parties. However, Seagold Boat Rentals shall not be held liable for any damage, loss, theft, or destruction of the customer’s property during the rental period.
- Age Restrictions: Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to operate motorboats.
- Time Restrictions: The boat should not be used after dusk, as hire boats are not licensed or insured for nighttime operation.
- Late Return and Liability: The customer will be responsible for extra hire fees if the boat is returned late for any reason, except for delays caused by engine failure or equipment issues. The customer will also be liable to Seagold Boat Rentals for any damage caused to the boat, outboard engines, equipment, or its contents due to unreasonable behavior or misuse of the vessel.
- Return Condition: The boat should be returned in the same state and condition it was in at the time of rental.
- Safety and Liability: Boating can be hazardous, and while Seagold Boat Rentals takes reasonable precautions in boat preparation and safety equipment provided, the customer is responsible for their safety, the safety of others affected by their actions, and ensuring the safe return of the boat. The customer will be liable to reimburse Seagold Boat Rentals for any loss or damage to the boat, outboard engines, or equipment caused by their actions or negligence.
By proceeding with the boat rental, you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions, ensuring a safe and responsible boating experience with Seagold Boat Rentals.
Instructions for Navigating, Operating, and Handling the Boat, Outboard Engines, and Safety Equipment – Seagold Boat Rentals:
- Navigation and Operation: As the Hirer, it is essential to understand how to navigate and operate the boat safely. Familiarize yourself with the steering mechanism, throttle controls, and any additional features specific to the boat model. Pay attention to the briefing session provided by Seagold Boat Rentals, where you will receive instructions on how to handle the boat effectively.
- Handling the Outboard Engines: If your rental includes an outboard engine, learn how to operate it properly. Understand the starting and stopping procedures, how to adjust the throttle, and how to steer the boat using the engine. Familiarize yourself with the gear-shifting mechanism if applicable. Refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for any specific instructions or maintenance requirements.
- Safety Equipment: Seagold Boat Rentals ensures the boat has the necessary safety equipment. Before setting off, familiarize yourself with the location and usage of life jackets, fire extinguishers, distress signals, and any other safety equipment provided. Ensure that all passengers know where to find and how to use the safety equipment in an emergency.
- Personal Responsibility: Please be aware that while operating the boat, outboard engines, and safety equipment, you assume personal responsibility and do so at your own risk. Follow all safety guidelines, regulations, and applicable laws during your rental period. Operate the boat responsibly and with caution, considering the safety of yourself, your passengers, and other watercraft users.
- Pre-Hire Inspection: Before starting your rental, thoroughly inspect the boat and its equipment. Check for any signs of damage, malfunctioning parts, or missing items. If you notice any issues, promptly inform Seagold Boat Rentals to ensure that necessary repairs or replacements can be made before you embark on your trip.
- Sufficient Fuel: Seagold Boat Rentals will ensure that the boat is provided with sufficient fuel for your hire period. However, it is advisable to verify the fuel level before departure. If you anticipate needing additional fuel during your trip, plan accordingly and refuel at designated fuel stations to avoid running out of fuel while on the water.
- The functionality of the Boat and Equipment: It is the responsibility of Seagold Boat Rentals to ensure that the boat and its equipment are in a functional state before your hire. However, as the Hirer, you must verify that everything is in proper working order before starting your trip. If you identify any concerns or issues, notify Seagold Boat Rentals immediately for assistance.
Always prioritize safety and adhere to responsible boating practices. Familiarize yourself with the boat, outboard engines, and safety equipment, and exercise caution while enjoying your boating experience.
The customer agrees and accepts:
To ensure a smooth rental experience with SeaGold Boat Rentals, please take note of the following guidelines:
- Return in the Received Condition: It is the customer’s responsibility to return the boat to SeaGold Boat Rentals in the same condition as it was received. Any damage caused to the boat, outboard engines, or equipment due to misuse or neglect will be the liability of the customer.
- Return Time: The boat should be returned no later than sunset. If you anticipate being late, it is crucial to contact SeaGold Boat Rentals in advance to inform them of your estimated return time. Failure to provide notice may result in additional charges.
- Early Returns: Please note that an early return of the vessel does not entitle the customer to a refund claim. The agreed-upon rental period should be respected unless otherwise specified in the rental agreement.
- Distance Limit: The maximum distance from the coast that the vessel should be taken is 3 nautical miles (3NM). Ensure compliance with this restriction to ensure your safety and adhere to legal requirements.
- Responsibility of the Hirer: Only the designated Hirer is allowed to handle and operate the boat during the rental period. It is important to comply with this rule for the safety of everyone on board.
- Stay within Santorini Island: The boat should not be taken outside of Santorini Island. Please adhere to this limitation and enjoy your boating experience within the designated area.
- Compliance with Terms and Conditions: All members of your party should be made aware of and comply with these terms and conditions. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that everyone onboard understands and respects these guidelines.
